#QueerPit is too amazing for just one day—so we've planned some fun prep events to help all participants get ready.

This year's #PreQueerPit Party is a great way to meet other participants and pump each other up. All of the events below are optional and will not affect your standing on the day. If you participate, make sure to use the hashtag #PreQueerPit in your tweets—and follow us on Twitter @QueerPitContest for daily reminders!

❤️          July 28th — Introduce Yourself!

Tell us about yourself ahead of #QueerPit! Where are you from, what are your genres, how did you become a writer, or anything else you want to share! Pitch contests are a wonderful way to make new writing friends—and we can't wait to meet you!

 

💛          July 29th — Let's Get Graphic!

It's the one you've been waiting for—time to show off your moodboards, cover art, character art, any visuals that represents your manuscript! Reminder that these may NOT be shared on the day of #QueerPit.

 

💚          July 30th — Character Interviews

What makes your main character unique? What drives or repels them? Throughout the day, we'll be asking some interview questions for your main character(s)! We may even retweet some of our favorite responses. ;)

💙          July 31st — Let's Share Advice!

Pitch contests can be overwhelming—especially if this is one of your first ones! Let's share some advice for each other: how to craft the best pitches, how to stay encouraged, how to hype up others as effectively as possible. The #QueerPit team will be retweeting advice for newer participants.
